The objective of Plant's new innovation project is to create a scalable flow to climate calculate both simple and complex construction projects from BIM model, in the different construction phases of the projects. In short, a BIM model is a 3D model of a building used in design, construction and operation processes. The model contains information such as dimensions, materials, strength class and can be seen as the building's database.
- In this innovation project, we will continue to work on linking climate calculations, BIM and digitalization of the construction sector. We are very pleased to have been trusted to drive this work by two of the industry's most important innovation funds," says John Sjulander, founder and CTO at Plant.
Practical solutions for future construction projects
In addition to Plant, which will project manage the work and develop code and methodology for life cycle analysis, several important need owners are involved in the project to ensure that solutions are practically anchored in construction projects.
- "Working in an innovation project where the entire value chain is involved and together develops new methods is very exciting. Implementation is of course very important in a project like this, and we are in a very good position to change the industry for the better," says Carl Kronlid, assistant professor of industrial technology at Uppsala University, and participant in the project.
Project partners are Einar Mattsson, NCC, Sweco, Vasakronan, Uppsala University, AFA Fastigheter, Hemsö Fastigheter, Bengt Dahlgren, LINK arkitektur, Tyréns, Kåver & Mellin, Boggma and Byggstyrning.
