AI opens up new opportunities to streamline the construction industry

Plant strengthens AI work – participated in AI Sweden and Almi's AI accelerator

Over the past year, we at Plant have been working systematically to integrate AI into our operations and products. Part of that effort has been our participation in AI Sweden and Almi Invest’s AI accelerator for scaleups.

Plants founders John Sjulander and Pelle Tunell during the AI program

Plant was one of ten companies selected for the program, which aims to strengthen high-growth companies’ ability to work with AI in a strategic and structured manner. The accelerator combined training, workshops, opportunity mapping, and individual coaching with leading AI experts—with a focus on moving from insight to concrete implementation and business value.

A concrete example of how we put our AI work into practice is that we now use AI to identify building components directly from drawings and import the information into the software. Our in-house experts have begun using AI support in their work on climate calculations. They are testing, quality-assuring, and measuring effectiveness. The plan is for this to also streamline and simplify the process for our external users. We are already seeing results.

The construction industry has seen weak productivity growth for decades. We are convinced that AI, when implemented correctly, can help change that—and boost both competitiveness and climate benefits.
