Plant takes the next step in its sustainability work - Fredrik Dahlgren takes on the role of Chief Sustainability Officer

The field of sustainability is developing rapidly. In order for Plant to continue to be proactive in this area, we are pleased to announce that Fredrik Dahlgren is stepping into a new role.

Fredrik Dahlgren, who joined Plant four years ago, moves from the role of COO

What are the hottest sustainability issues for the industry now?

- There is a lot going on in sustainability in Europe right now, with CSRD, ESRS and the EU Taxonomy creating the framework for measuring and valuing sustainability. Implementing this framework and ensuring that it actually contributes to sustainable construction will engage almost the entire construction and real estate sector in various ways in the coming years. In addition to a strong interest in sustainability reporting, we see an increased focus on circular construction and biodiversity, while climate change remains a pressing issue.

Why is Plant taking on this new role?

- At Plant, we have developed very powerful software to make climate calculations based on BIM and calculations. In order for us to continue to be innovative and produce valuable decision-making data for our customers, we need to focus even more on reducing climate emissions and investigate more sustainability areas. For example, we see great potential to contribute to a better understanding of the value chain's impact on biodiversity, material consumption and circularity.

...and how do you feel about it?

- I am super excited! We see huge potential in combining our expertise in software and climate with new sustainability challenges. My new role will give me greater opportunities to get closer to the construction projects where we do much of the development in construction. This is something I am used to from my previous time at Skanska and, among other things, the development of NollCO2 and what climate goals mean in practice. Now I'm hoping for a similar journey in more sustainability areas where we at Plant don't have all the answers - but are ready to find them together with our customers. At the same time, it is of course mixed feelings to leave the operational work of keeping our awesome LCA team together. We have made a great journey together!

Now that Fredrik is changing roles, we are looking for a team leader to join our LCA team.
