Wood vs concrete - Watch the seminar afterwards

The biodiversity of two building frames, one in wood and one in concrete, has been calculated. The first part of Sveafastigheter's research package Wood vs. concrete, where Plant is the report author, was published on September 29 in connection with a full seminar.

Traditionally, the construction and real estate industry has focused on carbon emissions in its life cycle assessments. This study provides a broader picture of environmental impacts by including more environmental impact categories.

- "Now we have measured the impact of building materials on biodiversity using Swedish soil data together with more environmental impact categories to get a better understanding of the whole. I think we are the first in the market to do this," says Astrid Berglund, report author and sustainability strategist at the software company Plant.
