Focus on Precision

The decision to switch to Calculate was not taken lightly. H2 Entreprenad has done thorough preparatory work and analyzed the system in detail.

“We’ve been in discussions with the team at Plant for three to four months, during which we’ve gone over every detail and developed a strong confidence in the data quality,” says Sanna Norén, Sustainability Manager at H2Entreprenad.

Being able to work in a traceable and transparent manner has been crucial, as H2 is committed to taking responsibility and leading the way in reducing the carbon footprint of every project.

“Access to accurate climate data is an extremely critical business issue as regulations tighten and caps are introduced. From distrust to trust

After several years of doing their own calculations in Excel and growing frustrated with the lack of precision and comparability in other tools, H2 Entreprenad has chosen to implement PlantCalculate as a long-term solution.

“We’ve tried other tools, but found that the results didn’t add up in the end when it came to the CO₂ figures. With MedCalculate, we see that the technology is finally where it needs to be,” Rikard notes.

Conducting internal climate calculations has been time-consuming, but necessary in order to compare projects long before the software was available, explore different solutions, and learn early on where H2 can implement the most effective solutions and how we need to influence our value chain.

“We’ve been using our own Excel solution, but it takes an enormous amount of time to maintain, and even more complexity lies ahead,”says Sanna.

Climate action gains momentum when more people can understand and contribute

Climate calculations are not an isolated function within the company. Twenty employees at H2 Entreprenad will be using Plant Calculate, ranging from the sustainability manager and procurement officers to project managers and the CEO.

“Knowledge should be embedded throughout the entire organization. We appreciate that Calculate is practical and easy to understand for both project managers and buyers, who can grasp the consequences of their choices,” saysRikard Hansson.

Calculate will also streamline communication with clients, thanks to its client view and the ability to conduct ongoing progress reviews throughout the project.

“The client view enables clear coordination and allows our clients to track the process, step by step, from the early stages through to follow-up. It will save time for everyone,” Sanna notes.
